Country Garden

Terraced House Garden, Wiltshire

Small garden, small budget was the clear brief from this client whose property was a charming terraced village house in Wiltshire.  The tiny garden was crammed with builders rubble and a postage sized terrace.  With a fragment of  a budget remaining from the house refurbishment and only a 6 week time frame, we pooled our energy and design expertise into shaping, framing and working with the existing usable elements.  Holes were chunked into hedges, borders elevated with shapely edges, walls topped with trellis and a tidy area hidden behind a trellis screen.  The importance of a deeper terrace and widening the steps made entertaining more practical and better proportion of useable space.  The result was a pretty, easy to maintain space and provided immense pleasure to our clients (and their blind dog, who was able to run around and not trample the borders!)
